It’s hard to believe that another year has already gone by. I see it even more so with Chloe, how time just seems to fly by. But as we get ready to ring in the new year, I think it is important for us to do so with the correct perspective, the correct mindset. Personally, 2018 was a great year; however I am ready to go to the next level. And if you want to do the same, here are the top 4 things that you should leave behind in 2018.
- Trying to please everyone. You are not Nutella, you cannot please everyone. And even so, not everyone likes Nutella. I know I’m not too crazy about it. You see, even Nutella has failed its job!
- Social media obsessing aka “if you didn’t post about it, did it really happen? mentality.” Stop obsessing over posting 24/7 and live in the moment. Not everyone needs to be privy to your every move. These past couple of months, I haven’t been posting consistently. And I have to admit that, some days, I panic about not being present enough on the gram. But when these spurs of panic occur, I ask myself, what’s more important: Virtual reality or Real Life? Why do we obsess so much with social media? Is it motivated by our fear of being irrelevant? … [ponder]
- Speaking of fear: maybe the year has gone by, but you haven’t accomplished much from your 2018 goals because you were afraid of failure. Fear has a way of paralyzing you and chocking out of you all of your dreams. Decide to let go of any fear and thoughts that are holding you back and soar in 2019! Remember, like the saying goes: you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take! (quote by Wayne Gretzky)
- Lastly, leave behind 2018. A new year is starting. Don’t bring old baggage in this new year. Leave the past in the past! Take all the lessons 2018 taught you and get ready to tackle the new year with boldness. “Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing, now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?” Isaiah 43:28-29
As you get ready to ring in the new year, I would love to wish you all happy holidays.
Until next time,
xoxo
