I can’t believe it has already been 11 years since I’ve been in San Sebastián! Did you know I lived there for 6 months? My bachelor degree was multilingual ( English,French and Spanish) and one of the requirements was to spend a semester abroad! San Sebastián was my first choice and that’s were I went!
I only have fond memories of my time there and I’ve always told Hubby that we should go back! Well finally, we did and it’s just as I remembered, if not better!
Even though it was « semana grande » (a week long festivities of giants parade, public concerts, fireworks etc) when we arrived, the sense of community was undeniable. It’s as if everyone knows each other! It was surreal to be back in a city I once considered my home with my family, and be part of the festivities.
Being that San Sebastián is dubbed as Europe’s culinary capital, we had to try one of their many Michelin Star restaurants! Even Hubby, who’s usually a food snob, enjoyed the pintxos we had!
Even though we would have liked to spend more days in San Sebastián, we enjoyed our time there and will most likely come back!
