LEARNING TO SLOW DOWN

Embracing a slow-paced life, and leaving behind the rushed, always-in-a-hurry mentality!

We are always jumping from one thing to the other, running from one meeting to the other, we never take the time to fully enjoy the present moment, because we are already thinking of the next thing in our never-ending to-do-list!

I am guilty of doing that all the time! For those who are familiar with the story of Martha and Mary in the bible, I mostly identify with Martha! Martha is the one doing the most, planning everything to the last detail, making sure that the house is well tended for and that there is food in the house. Mary on the other hand, will do those things after she’s been resourced, after, what i like to call, her spa day! And if she didn’t have time to get to it, she won’t stress about it! She’ll order in, and the house will be taken care of tomorrow! No big deal! I am not calling you to be lazy. No!! A lot to do isn’t the problem, but having too much to do is! Too much to do that the only way to get through your overfilled agenda is to go into hurry mode!

Why don’t we all strive to be like Mary, and stop putting that much pressure on us! I know sometimes, pressure amount unexpectedly, but let’s reassess where we spend our energy! Besides, ask yourself what good things do you miss out on daily in your undue hastened life?
